teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first
few minutes until professional help arrives. Course
content includes General Principles, Medical
Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics
include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies. For
those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency
because of job responsibilities or regulatory
requirements.
All modules: 7½ hours approx. 6½
hours without infant CPR First Aid only: 3½ hours

The Heartsaver CPR in Schools Course,
tailored to middle- and highschool students, teaches CPR
and AED use, relief of choking in adults and children,

highschool students seeking a credential in CPR and AED.

Friends & Family CPR
The Family & Friends CPR program
teaches how to perform CPR in adults, children, or
infants and how to help an adult, child, or infant who
is choking. Family members, friends and members of the
general community who want to learn CPR but do not need
a course completion card. This program also can be a
non-credentialed option for middle- and high-school
students.
Class Time: 2½ hours approx. 1

Family & Friends First Aid for
Children
The new Family &Friends First Aid for
Children program teaches how to manage illness and
injuries in a child for the first few minutes until
professional help arrives. This program covers such
topics as preventing injuries, recognizing and treating
basic first aid emergencies, and relief of choking in
infants and children. For those caring for infants and
children, such as family members, babysitters, and
others providing in-home care, who want basic first aid
information but who do not need a course completion
credential.

BLS for Healthcare Providers
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course
covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR
(including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag and
use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction,
and automated external defibrillation. For healthcare
providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants,
doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists
who must have a credential (card) documenting successful
completion of a CPR course.
